PostSubject: History always repeats itself... right? [private]   History always repeats itself... right? [private] EmptySun Nov 06, 2011 10:15 pm

"Almost done."
The room was dimly lit, at best. It was night over London, and the chamber was only illuminated by some candles burning with a strange, violet flame. A strange smell was in the air - like holy water boiling over a fire made from human bones and meat. Surely not a nice smell, but it could've been a lot worse. In that light, one single living being stood - in the middle of a circle out of glistening red. And judging from the curved knife in one hand, and the bandages around the other, this circle was not simply red dye - it was blood. Her own blood. A requirement for a good summong circle was essence of magic, and blood held a large amount of prana of a Magi. Still, using that much of her own blood had not been easy - this was at least one liter she had just lost to make this. In the middle, right infront of her, something was laid down in the center circle - something made out of wood. A simple broom, it seemed - but this thing was more demonic than the woman infront of it, it seemed.
Slowly, the Necromancer turned around and walked two steps - before hearing a sound right behind her. A scratching sound, and then a hopping. Morgana Le Fay would've killed herself out of shame if anyone else saw this spectacle going on in her working room where the walls were pretty much made out of bookshelves with tons of grimmoires. With more speed than one would think she possessed, Morgana turned around. That goddamn broom! That was the THIRD TIME! Said wodden contraption was now on it's merry way to not only ruin her summoning circle again, but also hop right out of the front door!
"What are you waiting for, you empty skull?! SEIZE IT!" Her voice trembling with anger and hatred, a sudden white hand shot out of the darkness. In the doorway, something with empty eye-sockets and terribly white figure stood. Something that should never be able to stand, let alone, live. It was nothing short of an animated skeleton, brought into life by the magician standing in her own blood. The white hand of this familiar now grabbed the broom, and it instantly stopped wiggling. Taking the artifact of sorts again, she this time more so slammed it onto the ground, before resuming her position. And this time, the wooden contraption did not resist, as the faint light of the violet candles continued to emit their strange smell. The skeletal servant in the doorway fell to the ground, like discarded bones, as Morgana lifted the spell holding them in place. As the ritual was initiated, this time, the broom would not escape! Why did this... thing try to resist to begin with? And how would the owner react once he was called back into this time? She would never admit it, but even in her frosted shell and interior, Morgana was anticipating this moment.

"Silver and iron to the origin. Gem and the archduke of contracts to the cornerstone. The ancestor is my great master Schweinorg..

The alighted wind becomes a wall. The gates in the four directions close, coming from the crown, the three-forked road that leads to the kingdom circulate...

Fill. Fill. Fill. Fill. Fill!

Repeat every five times.

Simply, shatter once filled..

Caster, I announce..

Your self is under me, my fate is in your might."

As she was speaking the chant, Morganas voice slowly changed from her usual, cold tone, to a growing, defined and strong chant of power. Her own Prana and Magic Circuits crackled, intertwined with the True Magic of the Holy Grail. The Heaven's Feel was touching her mind with it's glorious power, a power that would belong to her and her alone! The glowing was the sign. The sign of power that was flowing through her veins. The blood of the unnatural that kept her mind detached from the world, and her body would be the undying Master of the Holy Grail...

"In accordance with the resort of the Holy Grail, follow the call, as my feelings command, give thy answer.

Here is my oath. I am the one who becomes the new ruler of the world of the dead, I am the one who lays out all that is corrupt and wrong in this world of the dead..

You, seven heavens clad in three words of power, arrive from the ring of deterrence, O controller of reality... CASTER!!"

The last word, a yell. The first yell she had given in a long time, if not even in years. This would be her day. She did not even think to avert her eyes from the light of the summoning. He would appear now, the strongest Magician... Merlin, the only one strong enough to be her Servant.

PostSubject: Re: History always repeats itself... right? [private]   History always repeats itself... right? [private] EmptySun Nov 06, 2011 10:53 pm

How many years had it been? Far too many.. For a wizard, impatience was a virtue. It came with the intelligence, the restlessness, and the desire to practice, learn, and fight. It was hard, then, for the strongest magician in recorded history to try and contain their boredom in a place such as this. She honestly wondered why she had even signed up. It was irritating, to say the least, being trapped in this place.

Merlin gave a hearty sigh, looking around her at the white void that surrounded every last inch of this place and stretched into infinity. They called this the "THrone of Heroes", she had learned. An interesting name for a very dull place. In here, there were only two things she knew for certain. One, that she was to fight for the Holy Grail, eventually, called by a human or a magi as a servant....

And two, that she was really. really. really. really. bored.

And so it was, for longer than Merlin could even comprehend. Waiting and watching.. and waiting.. and some more waiting. At the very least, whatever entity created this place could explain why she was being subjected to such abject boredom. Just as Merlin reached her limit, about to pull her long blonde hair STRAIGHT from her head, she heard a voice. A female voice, eerily familiar to her, calling from seemingly everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Merlin wandered into the white void, looking back and forth as she walked the infinite stretch, blue skirt swaying softly, low-cut shirt rising and falling with her breath as she searched. She tapped her boots on the floor, twirling her staff and huffing irritatedly after about ten minutes of walking.

That's when it happened. A large, swirling, purple mass of energy appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, beckoning Merlin to step into it. Merlin complied. Even if it meant death, anything was better than this boredom. She stepped into the portal...

.. And immediately was thrust out into the middle of a circle, drawn on the floor of some chamber that she didn't recognize. Merlin closed her eyes, breathing in as her mind was filled with knowledge of the present day, opening her eyes again and looking around the room before looking at the figure in front of her. With the light from the circle still so brightly intense against her back, Merlin could only make out a shadowy figure, and no features just yet. The woman span her staff, holding it upright and slamming the end of it into the ground, creating a sound like a lightning strike and a shower of sparks. "Tell me, one who summoned me, art thou my master?" Merlin inquired, extending a hand to seal the contract, as she had been instructed. "I am Malificent, of the caster class." Merlin stated, the alias she had taken on rolling off of her tongue as if it was her actual name. Merlin tipped her hat up, waiting on the figure's reply and tapping her foot.

Ah, this light - it was working! Without averting her eyes once, Morgana watched as the true magic took form right in front of her. The Heaven's Feel was giving her a taste of what would be hers after she won this war - it was not a question of if, only of when - the witch was certain. Unlimited power, right in her-
Wait a moment. Her eyes narrowed, as the light began to subside and draw the clear figure of the summoned spirit. This... This was impossible! Everything had been perfect, the artifact was of true origin - so why did this happen? How could her Caster, the ultimate ancient Magician, the legendary half-Incubus...
Have the form, endowments, hair, and all in all, body of a woman? It took even the composed and ice-cold Morgana a moment to regain her composure. She had to stay calm, and collected. Find out what went wrong - IF something went wrong. The sudden headache she felt did not help things either.

"Indeed, I am your Master. Although judging from your legend, I expected something... else." Her eyes, still narrowed down, stared at the Caster infront of her. Maleficent? A good alias. As good as any other. "You are the legendary 'strongest Magician', I hope? I am Mordred Le Fay, agent of the Clock Tower. And your only key to the Holy Grail, should you desire it, Maleficent."
Crossing her arms underneath her chest, the flickering light of the candles was again the only thing illuminating the night, making both witches in this room seem otherworldy and mysterious. In her arrogance, Morgana failed to realize who had once shared her name...

History always repeats itself... right? [private] Empty
PostSubject: Re: History always repeats itself... right? [private]   History always repeats itself... right? [private] EmptyWed Nov 09, 2011 7:49 pm

Merlin stretched with her other arm, breasts bouncing slightly from the movement. Confound them, they were hard to manage. The witch raised an eyebrow as the form of her master entered her vision as the light behind her subsided. A woman, younger than she had anticipated. She looked.. vaguely familiar.. It was.. slightly.. worrying.. She had a foreboding feeling that she couldn't really explain. She wondered... Merlin blinked twice, running a hand through her hair and dropping the extended hand to her side, letting it swing idly as her staff disappeared into the air. This was just too familiar a feeling...

"Indeed, I am your Master. Although judging from your legend, I expected something... else." Merlin closed her eyes, tsk'ing audibly, so this woman knew her legend? That would explain the dumbfounded look. Like the rest of people these days, this woman probably expected the "great merlin" to be male. It was only natural, as all the history books list her as one. Merlin sighed. That's what she gets for wearing cloaks. The medieval ones hide your boobs too well.

"You are the legendary 'strongest Magician', I hope? I am Morgana Le Fay, agent of the Clock Tower. And your only key to the Holy Grail, should you desire it, Maleficent." Merlin's heart stopped. She could feel it. The wizard's gaze locked with the master's. Over a century of pure, unbridled hatred coursed through her veins, her fingers and eye twitching as icy sparks zapped back and forth between her fingers. Pure magical prana energy formed in a cloud around her, the very essence of her power radiating as she stepped forward, the force of it leaving a crater in the ground as she spoke, her voice echoing with the hatred she felt. "Morgana Le Fay. How have you survived all these years? And why, then, would you summon me, your enemy? Revenge? Or a sick joke?" She scowled, holding her hands at her sides in an attack position.

History always repeats itself... right? [private] Empty
PostSubject: Re: History always repeats itself... right? [private]   History always repeats itself... right? [private] EmptyFri Nov 11, 2011 10:25 pm

This... did not go as planned, not at all. The sudden buildup of prana took Morgana by surprise - and the stinging in her head just got worse. The fact that a command seal was in the process of burning itself into her left hand didn't help lessen any of these effects either - as the one who had forced this Servant into reality, she was automatically registered by the grail as an official Servant. Three ultimate commands, and a contract that could even outlast that, should a Servant wish for it...
Taking one - or two - steps backwards, a single drop of cold sweat went down her back. Merlin was a magnificent Magician - even freshly summoned, she would be able to turn Morgana into nothing but a corpse instantly if she wished for it. What should she do? Use a command seal right away? No, they were too rare and valuable. Replenishing lost command spells was nearly impossible. A top Magus like her would have to take risks at times, after all.

"Wait, Merlin. Still your anger. I am not who you think I am." Morgana's voice was really not helping the cause, considering that it was cold and cutting deep, just like the original one's voice that had been able to seduce Arthur according to some legends. The mother of the betrayer... "You should know. The one you think of had the blood of the Fay, but was no immortal. She has long since died - if before or after you, I do not know. I only know that I am not her." At least having such an emotionless tone most of the time helped her to keep calmness in it. The last thing she needed was a voice showing fear and shaking like a tree in a storm!
"My name, as well as my family, carries the myth. That is all the connection I - or anyone else in the past - has to the legendary witch. I am merely a human Magus... Even if I am one of the strongest." Still defiant of possibly being turned into fine paste, Morgana met the hateful eyes of Merlin without hesitation. No fear was shown in them at all.
"Please, lower your guard, Caster."

PostSubject: Re: History always repeats itself... right? [private]   History always repeats itself... right? [private] EmptyThu Feb 09, 2012 2:11 pm

For Merlin, currently, pissed off was nowhere near a correct description of how angry she was. Here was her MORTAL ENEMY... Somehow surviving the years upon years upon years that have passed since Merlin had died. Merlin's eyes narrowed until they were just barely slits, a fiery hatred dancing across the little of her eyes that could be seen.

The magician raised a hand, sparks swirling around it as she prepared to attack. The heat that her energy was giving off right now would be unbearable for a human.. but then again, neither in this room were human were they? However, the wax on the candles around them began to melt more rapidly as a consequence of this.

"Wait, Merlin. Still your anger. I am not who you think I am." Merlin blinked, her arm falling to her side and her eyes opening, her energy and anger subsiding into her as she re-summoned her staff, placing one end on the ground and leaning on it, taking some of the weight off her feet. "You should know. The one you think of had the blood of the Fay, but was no immortal. She has long since died - if before or after you, I do not know. I only know that I am not her. My name, as well as my family, carries the myth. That is all the connection I - or anyone else in the past - has to the legendary witch. I am merely a human Magus... Even if I am one of the strongest. Please, lower your guard, Caster."

"..." The witch tsked, looking down and shaking her head before chuckling and looking back up, eyes twinkling with renewed interest. "If you were, in fact, the real Morgana, you would've blasted me on threat. You wouldn't have wasted time re-assuring me of your innocence. Besides, her aura was much more.. evil.. than yours is." Merlin smiled, standing up straight and stretching once more, twirling her staff in her right hand absent-midnedly. [color]"I, Merlin, Magus of the Round Table and honorary member of the Seventh Holy Order, accept your contract. I will fight for you and under your command as you see fit to assist you in winning the war for this holy grail."[/color] She nodded, smiling.

History always repeats itself... right? [private] Empty
PostSubject: Re: History always repeats itself... right? [private]   History always repeats itself... right? [private] EmptyThu Feb 09, 2012 5:32 pm

Morgana's breathing slowed down a little. The sudden heat of the prana that Merlin was readying caused the room to quickly heat itself up - the candles around them melting was not the only result. The Magus of the Fay bloodline felt sweat running down her forehead and back, not a pleasant feeling at all, especially for one such as herself, who was disgusted by physical work and used her own familliars for anything even remotely related to them. The difference in power between her, a top agent of the Magic Association, and a Caster-type Servant, was gigantic.
Thus, the magus couldn't help but let out a small relieved sigh when she wasn't turned into a pile of blood and bones, or a pile of ash, right away. In fact, the situation turned around greatly in her favor now - a Servant so accepting of the contract was a blessing in itself! But nothing less was to be expected from a genius magician like herself. Morgana Le Fay, queen of the new world of magic... Yes, that was going to be quite the nice title in the future. And as that thought crossed through her mind, the flickering shadow behind her began smiling - Morgana's own shadow, that is. A smile made out of crimson red, and as wide as the real Morgana's face. Something completely unworldly, something... other. The apparation was gone as quick as it had appeared, and without the Magus herself even noticing it.
Slightly lowering her head, Morgana spoke with respect, but also coldness in her voice. "I am glad we see things the same way then, Maleficent. Evil is hardly a tool one is able to use to reach a set goal, after all. I would not delve into those regions of Magecraft lightly."
This room seemed a lot spookier now, with the candles mostly died down, the sweet, sickening smell of corpses in the air also didn't vanish. Thankfully, nobody from the Magic Association really knew what kind of Magecraft was practiced here - after all, Necromantic practices like these where discouraged, if not outright banned. Then again, nobody really WANTED to find out, knowing full and well that this Magus of the Fay bloodline was cold and ruthless, even if she was not homocidal. Usually, that is.

But for once, even though she still had the cold voice of her usual way, she at least returned the smile given to her by Merlin - but Morgana's own smile seemed distant, like something she was definitely not used to actually using. However, she'd rather smile like a fool than upset a witch that had been known to be prone to causing mischief in the old times - she had no intention of walking around with a penis for months because Merlin didn't like her face.
"Now then, please follow after me. Our departure to Japan is booked, but thanks to some imbecile on the other end of the line, we won't be able to leave until the day after tomorrow. You were a great magician of your time, and one that is still regarded highly - I'd love to hear your opinion on some of the theories I'm working on." Morgana made a gesture that suggested following her outside of the bad smelling ritual chamber, and outside into a hallway - a hallway that had doors to a library, this very chamber, and the 'living quarters', which doubled as a kitchen. Obviously, Morgana inteded to head to the library - now it was up to Merlin to decide to either go along, or not.
